“We are not disturbed by things, but by the views we take of them” — Albert Ellis
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is based on the key principle that our thoughts, beliefs, and interpretations of events greatly influence our behavioral and emotional response, and that by identifying and challenging irrational and unhelpful thoughts, we can change our emotional and behavioral reactions, leading to improved well-being.
CBT has the strongest evidence base for effectiveness of any “talking therapy” focused on the present and very practically oriented towards solving client’s current problems.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is the most proven evidenced psychotherapy and the most recommended treatment for anxiety and stress-related disorders, with the longest duration of effect, according to the British Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) (Nice- clinical guidelines 2004).
There is strong evidence to suggest that when hypnotherapy is combined with CBT the resulting treatment is significantly more effective, rapid and long-lasting than CBT alone. A meta-analysis published by Irving kirsch Compared 18 different research studies on hypnotherapy and CBT, showed that clients receiving hypnotherapy combined with CBT showed greater improvement than 70-90 % of clients receiving CBT alone.
In my practice, I combine the two most powerful psychological therapies: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and Clinical Hypnotherapy, offering you the most effective and proven therapy currently available. This approach can help you with a wide range of issues and provide you with speedy, long-lasting results.
“Enough studies have now accumulated to suggest that the inclusion of hypnotic procedures may be beneficial in the management and treatment of a wide range of conditions and problems encountered in the practice of medicine, psychiatry and psychotherapy.” — BPS, report findings 2001.
There is convincing evidence that hypnotherapy enhances the effects of CBT and is effective for the management of different range of pain, insomnia, IBS, dental surgery and anesthesia, reduction of anxiety and stress and in treating social anxiety, especially when combined with self-hypnosis and deep relaxation.
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy CBH is a goal-oriented therapy that focuses only on the present and future moment, helping you develop practical strategies to overcome challenges and improve your overall well-being. CBH focuses on helping you make significant and positive changes in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours by utilizing the power of suggestion and focused attention during hypnosis.
Hypnosis promotes a very deep powerful state of focused attention and deep relaxation which is central to most CBT treatments. In this hypnotic state, you become more receptive to powerful therapeutic suggestions and guided imagery techniques which can enhance the effectiveness of cognitive restructuring.
CBH is a collaborative process in which both therapist and client are active participants, my aim is to build a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients and to work together to agree on the goals and task. Action plans shouldn't be one-size-fits-all; treatments are tailored to address each individual's unique needs and goals, taking into consideration their values, culture, state of mind, and level of motivation. My goal is to teach my clients self-help techniques and empower them to be their own best therapists in the future to prevent any relapse.
